The Blue-Collar Cash Contest
So proud to announce that entries to the Blue Collar Cash contest were so good that I decided one winner wasn’t enough.
Instead, I chose three! I wanted this money to really transform lives and when I saw the number of excellent submissions I thought one winner wasn’t enough. Instead, I elected to support three startups that I think will add to their communities, be self-sustaining, and become job creators.
In Third Place
I chose B & M Custom Homes and Renovations. They’ll receive $3,000 to continue building out their business. You can view their initial entry here.
In Second Place
Terry’s entry spoke to me. Her goal was to open a food truck catering to an underserved market. Here’s her initial entry: Opening a Family Owned Business-Caribbean Food Truck and her supplemental video. As a result, she’ll receive $4,000 to pursue her dream.
In First Place
Finally, I’m happy to announce the contest winner, April McKee, who can now launch her dream of running a baked goods food truck. Her initial entry was supplemented with an essay and a slideshow. Can’t wait to visit her food truck in person, after she gets it off the ground with the $5,000 prize.
